Back during the Easter Holidays a friend asked if we would like to go to Furzey Gardens with the girls on an adventure to find all the fairy doors hidden around the beautiful gardens. Seeing as I most definitely have a little girl who’s imagination is whizzing with princesses and fairies this sounded like her perfect day out.
So off we went on a lovely sunny day armed with a picnic and the promise of maybe, possibly catching a glimpse of a fairy or two.
The gardens are £8 for adults, £4.50 for children and under 4’s are free so the cost for us was just £12.50. (Family tickets £24 for family of 4) It’s also worth noting that it’s much cheaper in winter at £3 for adults and £1 for children. I’ve been told it can be really magical in winter too particularly if it’s frosty. The entrance cost also goes straight to the charitable trust that supports the gardens and working with people with learning disabilities. That’s always nice to hear.
Both my girls loved Furzey Gardens and so did our friends, they were all so excited each time they found a door and marked it on their maps. Ivy my 1 year old just loved being able to crawl and toddle around.
Have a watch of our video and see what it’s really like. I would definitely recommend this as a family day out. Here at Hey Mummy we love to encourage imaginative play and Furzey Gardens ticks the box for that.
