Halloween is the perfect time of year for a bit of themed craft fun with the kids. Now I don’t pretend for a second to be one of those ‘Pinterest Mums’ who can make anything out of the vast array of craft paraphinalia that they have expertly organised in their craft cupboard. I mean really who has the space or the time?! But if I get a project in mind then I will try and make an effort.
As many of you already know Anna and IÂ are also part of a new gang of online mummy Vloggers for Channel Mum. This month seeing as the witchy holiday is just around the corner Channel Mum asked us to get creative and produce a playlist of recipes, craft and general Halloween fun.
Now I will let you into a little secret, Anna hates Halloween so I took it upon myself to do this one as I actually find it all just a bit of fun, even if it is another ‘commercialised Americanised’ event! But what the heck was I going to make?
I just happened to have a big pile of white muslin left over from my husband’s and my wedding so this was the start of my inspiration. White muslin = Ghost. Done.
Hmmmm, but how do I make it into a ghost? Well watch our video and see exactly how I managed it.
Here is the list of bits you will need, hopefully these are things you may indeed actually have lying around.
- Scrap white material – Old T Shirt, sheet, baby muslin
- Black Card or Felt, if you don’t have any colour in paper with a black pen or marker
- Googley eyes, I will admit I didn’t have any but I bought some at Home Bargains! If you don’t have any leave them out.
- Yogurt pot, paint pot, plant pot any kind of plastic pot!!
- Sharp Knife – Only to be used by adults or with close supervision
I hope you enjoy the video, it’s a pretty real depiction of what crafting with kids is really like. Tilda only has a certain amount of concentration before she just wants to do whatever she wants!!! Baby Ivy also has no interest whatsoever for craft or filming yet but these are the things we juggle while trying to organise activities for our kids!
